The Smooth Agile DMT is a powerhouse of an elliptical. Smooth Fitness have been in the business for over 25 years and the Agile DMT is the culmination of all the expertise and experience. The DMT range are the only ellipticals that have dynamic motion technology. This is a biomechanical adjustment to how the body is positioned down to 12 different levels giving you a very varied workout which keeps the muscles guessing for maximum results.

There are 20 levels of resistance. These are delivered smoothly to the flywheel magnetically. Any change is subtle in transition but can still be felt. The lower levels are good for a beginner or those wanting a workout at low intensity. The higher levels are a challenge even for experienced elliptical users and could also give a real strength type workout.

There are 9 exercise programs most of which can be fully customized to give you a great variety of workouts tailored to the particular results you’re after. You’ll probably start of with the manual program to get a feel of the machine where you can change the settings as you go. Then you may want to move onto a fat burning program which is a warm up followed by a low intensity fat burning routine then a cool down.

The endurance program is a great one to test your fitness level as it starts off gently and gradually builds the intensity, see how long you can last then cool down as part of the program. The heart rate control program adjusts the resistance to maintain your rate at a predetermined level (wireless chest strap included). This is the pinnacle of getting the maximum results from the effort you put in. This is good for any age as it based on your resting heart rate, this is one worth investigating and this elliptical does it.

For those who like the little luxuries you find in commercial ellipticals the Smooth Agile DMT has a 3 speed adjustable fan. Like your own ipod speaker system on the commercial elliptical? This one has one built in too. What commercial ellipticals don’t have are the 12 dynamic motion levels and 20 levels of resistance. So they can’t give you variety or the ability to give your body such a beneficial workout in so little time.
