The motor is built for long life and is very quiet. It’s one of the biggest we’ve seen on a treadmill being 4.0 horsepower (most treadmills are 3.0 or less). This easily copes with the maximum speed of 12 mph while the slowest is 0.5 mph. The running deck is particularly long and wide so anyone who is not confident or has long strides will be at home on this treadmill. The running deck also has exclusive technology applied in the cushioning and softness of the landing and a firm push off. This enhances your run and you’ll have less tiredness.

There are 28 workout programs. The first is the quick start manual program where you hop on and go and change the settings as you run. There is a goal program where you tell the treadmill how many calories you want to burn or the distance you want to run and you’re told when it’s been achieved. There are 10 speed programs which vary the speed throughout the program. Then there are 10 speed and incline which affect both the speed and incline in different ways as you run. There are 5 custom programs where you can build your own routine.

There is a heart rate control program which gives you a complete cardio workout. You input your gender, height, weight and age and the treadmill gives you your maximum target workout heart rate. You can then choose to workout at a percentage of this maximum and the treadmill uses the heart rate sensors to ensure your heart rate stays at the optimum level. This sounds complicated but is something worth trying as it’s a very effective way of exercising especially if you don’t have much time.

Finally there’s a fitness test which judges your performance based on time of completion. This gives you a good way to measure your progress as your fitness improves from continual use. The treadmill also comes with useful and more popular features like the water bottle holder and the built in sound system. This means you can have your favorite music playing as you run. There are transport wheels to help you move the treadmill should you need to.
