NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 Elliptical Trainer Review

The NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 features a unique incline ramp that climbs up to 30 degrees. This changes the angle that your muscles are used during the workout. This means your muscles are targeted in different ways resulting in a superior body shape than with normal elliptical trainers.

The stride length can be changed from 18″ up to 22″ so a user of any size can get a good comfortable workout. The upper body gets their workout with the soft grip handlebars giving a total body experience. All exercise information is clearly displayed on the graphical console including your heart rate using the heart rate grips.

The resistance goes to 15 levels and gives a gentle ride at the lower levels for beginners while the upper levels give a challenging uphill climb. The resistance can be changed at the touch of a button or there are workout programs that have a predetermined routine.

There are a total of 24 in built workouts. 20 are divided into weight loss, aerobic and performance which gives you results based on the workout choice. There are 2 heart rate programs which adjust the intensity to maintain your heart beating at the optimum level. Then there are 2 workouts where you can program your own routine and save it for continued future use.

Most will appreciate the 8 weeks of certified personal trainer workouts using the ifit® workout card. These are special workouts that take you to the peak of fitness and feature personal trainers talking you through each workout. They encourage you and tell you what to expect next and are heard using the in built speakers.

The in built speakers can also play your favorite workout music from an mp3 player which can be plugged into the console. A nice feature is the carb counter. This is a reading of the amount of carbs you’ve burned from your workout in grams which is ideal for those on low carb diets.
