Livestrong is a foundation whose aim is to help people fight cancer. The foundation was founded by the famous cancer surviver Lance Armstrong. He suffered and survived cancer and still went on to win several Tour de France cycling races which are one of the most physically demanding races in the world. What’s needed in any elliptical especially ones that go into a health club or gym are easy to use controls and a straight forward manual workout program. This means anyone can just get on the elliptical and ride while controlling all the settings yourself. These are easy to read and are clear to see on the console. The resistance is applied using a JID hybrid generator which is a maintenance free resistance technology. The power is drawn from the rider even for the resistance as well as the display.

There are 20 levels of resistance. The lower levels will be ideal for those who want to lose weight with a long calorie burning ride or just for a beginner. The higher levels will be good for either those who want to vary their workout by getting aerobic and anaerobic benefits, or those who simply want a tough workout to tone the legs, thighs and buttocks. It can all be done with this elliptical without forgetting the handlebars which provide the upper body and core their own workout. All this is done at any resistance in a smooth, natural way due to the design of the elliptical itself.

The console is 7″ bright blue backlit LCD which gives you your workout information including the following; time, distance, calories, speed, level, watts, METs, heart rate and profile. The workout programs you have are manual and interval plus, this is divided into hill interval and random interval. There is a goal plus workout which divides into time goal, distance goal and calories goal. You don’t get many programs but you never do with commercial machines. You pay for the build quality and the ability to handle hours of daily use.

One feature that will come in handy are the easily accessible thumb switch controls. The water bottle holder may be benign but is something very much needed for the experienced elliptical user who will need hydration every ten minutes or so. The pedals run on tracks and are aligned to make it comfortable and natural on the legs and feet when you ride.
