The distance between the flywheel and the magnet determines the resistance you are using.

    Models that cost less and are of basic design will require you to change the position of the magnet manually using a lever. The next model uses a motor to help you move the magnet. The most sophisticated machines, however, use a system called eddy-current system. In these, you will find that there is no movement of the magnet, but the current reaching the magnet will help in varying resistance levels.
