Livestrong are a foundation started by the famous cyclist Lance Armstrong. He won the grueling Tour de France after surviving a cancer diagnoses. Livestrong Fitness are the equipment side of things. They make equipment with the ethos that being fit and healthy is about regular exercise. As part of equipment being sold a donation is made to the Livestrong foundation to help other people beat cancer as Lance did. The equipment is made for Livestrong by one of the leaders in fitness equipment manufacturing which is Johnson Health Tech.

The Livestrong LSPRO1 treadmill has a speed range of 0 to 12 mph. This is good enough for nearly every runner when you hear that 12 mph equates to a 5 minute mile and you don’t find hardly any home treadmills any faster than this. Not many runners can go that fast at all, jogging is around 6 mph. The incline goes from flat up to 14%. If you like using the incline for maybe uphill walks as a warm up for example. Like the speed, 14% incline is around 2% more than most other treadmills.

The motor is 3.0 horsepower and while you’ll find it powerful it’s also quiet so you won’t have any noise distracting you as you run. You’ll be able to hear a television easily if you plan to have one in front of the treadmill. The treadmill is folding and all of the dimensions are below. The 24 workout programs including the manual where you’ll control the settings yourself. Some of the others include peak intervals, speed intervals, weight loss, rolling hills, mountain climb and much more. One useful program is the target heart rate zone. This uses the heart rate sensors to keep your heart beating at the optimum level to improve your fitness as you run. The running deck has a special shock absorption cushioning system so it’s kind on the legs and joints as you run. This means you can also exercise for longer without feeling as much fatigue.

The little extras have been thought of as well. You have a built in fan to cool you as you run. There is a water bottle holder. Even some very experienced runners will struggle to reach 11 mph and when you consider that jogging is 6 mph then this treadmill is good. The deck has been designed to be soft so you’ll feel less impact as you run. It does this by design as it’s a “floating deck”.

There is an “intelligent weight management” system. You stand on the free scales you can see in the picture above. This calculates your body mass index (BMI) and your weight and wirelessly downloads it into the Sebring treadmill. The treadmill will then design you a workout using the speed, time and incline that will burn a set number of calories from your body based on the scales results. This is a unique feature we haven’t seen before.

You still get the normal workout programs you’d expect in a treadmill. There are 3 target programs where you run to a predetermined time, distance or amount of calories burned. There’s a speed interval program with 12 different levels of intensity. This is the same with the weight loss program which also has 12 different intensity levels. You have a 5k running or walking program where the treadmill learns from your previous workouts and uses this data in future workouts.

A heart rate control program can read a Polar transmitter and will adjust the settings to keep your heart beating at the optimum rate to improve cardiovascular fitness. If you need hydrating during a long run for example there is a water bottle holder built in. If you have an MP3 player there is a jack and speakers in the console so you can hear your favorite music playing as you run. Overall the Yowza Sebring is an impressive treadmill that will help you achieve your fitness goals from within your home.

For someone to win an endurance race after living through cancer is very inspirational. He decided to form the Livestrong foundation to help others who are suffering from cancer. The Livestrong fitness equipment is inspired by Lance and a donation is made to the foundation of $4 million. The Livestrong T1xe treadmill is made by Matrix who make their own line of successful commercial fitness equipment.

The treadmill has a speed range from 0.5 mph to 12 mph. This is a good range and is what you’ll find on most treadmills in gyms or health clubs. To give you an idea of speed jogging is around 6 mph and 12 mph equates to a 5 minute mile. There’s not many people who can achieve a 5 minute mile and you wouldn’t normally find them on a treadmill, they’ll go to a running track. The incline goes up to 15% so you get quite a gradient. Some people like doing an uphill warm up or cool down and that can be done here.

The deck is 60″ long so runners with any length of stride will be ok here. The width is 20″ so even the most unconfident new starter should feel they can learn to run on this treadmill easily. The deck is cushioned with a commercial system so there is less impact on the joints. The fact that the deck needs no maintenance until it’s done 25,000 miles will save money for the health center or ease the mind of the home buyer. The step up to the deck is a low 7.5″ so it’s easily accessible.

The console as you can see by the picture has clear buttons which do the job you want it to do. The 7″ screen has two functions. The motor is built for long life and is very quiet. It’s one of the biggest we’ve seen on a treadmill being 4.0 horsepower (most treadmills are 3.0 or less). This easily copes with the maximum speed of 12 mph while the slowest is 0.5 mph. The running deck is particularly long and wide so anyone who is not confident or has long strides will be at home on this treadmill. The running deck also has exclusive technology applied in the cushioning and softness of the landing and a firm push off. This enhances your run and you’ll have less tiredness.

There are 28 workout programs. The first is the quick start manual program where you hop on and go and change the settings as you run.
